Composition
Each capsule Omnicin contains: 0.4 mg tamsulosin hydrochloride. Properties: Omnicin is a new potent and long acting alpha-1 receptor blocker selectively and competitively that relaxes the smooth muscle of the lower urinary tract (prostate and urethra( whereby the tension is reduced. Omnicin improves urodynamics and reduces the symptoms of urination disorders resulting from prostatic hyperplasia. Indications: Omnicin used in benign prostatic hyperplasia.
Dosage
The usual dose is one capsule once daily. Maximum daily dose is 0.8 mg (2 capsules) once daily.
Contraindications
Omnicin is not used in these cases: - Hypersensitivity to tamsulosin hydrochloride or sulfonamide. - Severe hepatic impairment. - Breast-feeding. - History of orthostatic hypotension.
Side effects
These side effects rarely occur such as: - Headache. - Rhinitis. - Abnormal ejaculation. - Dizziness. - Arthralgia. .
Precautions
At the first signs of orthostatic hypotension (dizziness , weakness) the patient should sit or lie down until the symptoms have disappeared. - Caution should be exercised during driving and operating machines. - Caution should be exercised in porphyria
Drug Interactions
Tell your doctor if you take other medicines such as: - Ketoconazole. - Erythromycin. - Cimetidine. - Furosemide. - Other alpha 1 blockers. Package: Each box of Omnicin contains: 3 × 10 Capsules. Storage: Store at a temperature below 30 ºC.
